Mission: To protect and preserve for the benefit of the public the natural, scenic and historic resources of Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, Essex, King and Queen, and King William Counties.
Volunteer Opportunities: Becoming a member; assisting with inventories of unique natural, cultural and historic resources; suggesting appropriate conservation sites; becoming educated about non-regulatory land conservation options; fundraising; and publicity. MPLT can provide information and speakers and hold courses for attorneys, landowners and CPA’s on “Conservation Easements”.

Mission: Established by state law and representing the 10 county governments, it provides services to meet the needs of the individuals and their families who have problems associated with mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation, and developmental disabilities and delays experienced by infants and toddlers. It continually measures and assesses the constituency’s needs, plans for their effective treatment, marshals the necessary resources to do so, and develops and implements the comprehensive clinical and support services offered. It educates the public about the nature of those disabilities and the dignity and worth of the persons who may have them.
Volunteer Opportunities: Needed in specific program areas such as Rural Infant Services (RISP); prevention.
