Mission: To help Gloucester County residents who have a temporary financial need. Often clients are working people who have suffered unexpected hardships and are not eligible for government assistance. Assistance has included partial payment of utility bills or rent, purchase of necessary furniture or appliances, medical aids, and assistance to school-age children through the J.D. Briggs Fund.
Volunteer Opportunities: Fundraising activities such as annual spring golf tournament and fireworks sale.
Approximate Annual Budget: $32,000.

Mission: The Sanders Fund was established in September 2003 following the sale of The Francis N. Sanders Nursing Home to the Riverside Healthcare Association. Mr. Sanders had a vision of care for seniors resulting in the establishment of Sanders Nursing Home in Gloucester. The Fund has a special interest in programs and projects that address Mr. Sanders' care for seniors. The Fund considers grant requests that are supported by application, financial statements and 501(C)3 non-profit status from middle peninsula of Virginia groups and organizations.
Volunteer Opportunities: Assist with activities and personal visitation for nursing home residents.
